Celebrating A Legend

Our SoHo store window is dedicated to the life and memory of Venus Xtravaganza, a transgender woman and legend of the New York Ball Scene whose life was tragically cut short at the age of just 23.

The World Premiere of I’m Your Venus, Kim Reed’s investigation into her murder is showing this month at The Tribeca Film Festival. Thirty-six years on, the case remains unsolved and her murderer has never been brought to justice.

Inspired By Susanne Bartsch, Another New York Icon

Our support for The NYC LGBT Community Center is inspired by Susanne Bartsch and her longstanding commitment to fundraising for LGBTQ+ charities including The Center.

Before becoming the activist and doyenne of New York nightlife that she is today, she opened a small boutique selling cutting edge fashion from young British New Wave designers. Her store was at 70 Thompson Street, SoHo, where today you’ll find… us!

Here she is standing outside the store in 1981. Why not drop by and see how much it’s changed?
